I live in
Wellington, New Zealand and studied History at Victoria University
(Wellington) and completed at BA before continuing my education studying
jewellery at Whitireia Polytechnic.
I work in silver, crafting
beautiful and detailed figurative wearable objects. I'm interested in
referencing materials which tell stories and in working with textures
and patterns. Many of my pieces are inspired by nature, the beautiful
gardens and bush around my home, simple or complex clusters of blooms
and foliage.
Nostalgic works feature children's games and material
history; playful and whimsical pieces reflecting simple things treasured
for their memories and moments. These works are often lockets with
other narratives enclosed or concealed.
I'm interested in nature in the man-made environment - in objects decorated with nature inspired patterns, and in plants and animals in the built environment.
